Student Risk Education Committee
As an official university-wide committee within the Community Programs Office, SREC is committed to recommending and implementing best practices in student risk education for community service activities both on and off campus. Our goal is to foster a culture of safety, empowering students to contribute to the community with confidence and responsibility.

About
The Student Risk Education Committee (SREC) is a student-initiated, and student-led committee dedicated to addressing student risk and liability issues. Recognized statewide for its pioneering efforts in student safety, SREC has collaborated with the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) to serve as a model for the development of similar committees across the UC system

The SREC consists of several sub-committees e.g. Driver Safety Training/Vehicle Orientation (DST/VO), Hypertension, CPR/First Aid, etc., and the PLEDGE Fund. The range of risk mitigating resources funded by the SREC PLEDGE Fund consists of Live Scans, Liability Insurance, Crowd Management, CPR/First Aid, TB Tests, ETC.
