FAQ

The Student Risk Education Committee (SREC) FAQ page provides answers to commonly questions you may have pertaining the PLEDGE Fund, risk management resources, and required trainings. It covers topics such as eligibility for funding, submission guideline's, and deadlines. The FAQ answer questions on the various sub-committee's that make up SREC and SREC's role in promoting student safety and risk awareness across all campus events. 

  • Where can I sign up for Youth Safety Training?
    The YST Fall quarter sign up form is linked here: https://forms.gle/hYTiPBFYaKWChgSZ9. Alternatively, please feel free to reach out to the YST Subcommittee at srecyouthsafetychair@gmail.com
  • What happens if I turn in my PLEDGE Application in less than 21 days?
    If applications are to be submitted late, a letter explaining the reason for the delay will be required and should be addressed and emailed to the Community Programs Office Director (Antonio Sandoval, asandoval@cpo.ucla.edu) with a Carbon Copy to the SREC Administrative Support (Samantha Magpusao, smagpusao@cpo.ucla.edu) with the subject line: LATE SREC Application Submission Request. there is NO guarantee that late submission will be accepted.
  • How long before an event should I turn In my PLEDGE Fund application?
    You should turn in your PLEDGE Fund application at least 21 days (3 weeks) before the date of your event. So that there is enough time for the SREC committee to review your application, and make necessary revisions.
  • Our event does not require working with youth under 18 years old, do we still need to be trained for YST?
    No. Only events that require working with youth under the years of 18 years will require members and volunteers to complete Youth Safety Training.

  • Who can I contact for help amending my application?
    It is best to contact your Sole advisor, so that they can be in good communication with the rest of the committee and committee advisors. You can feel free to reach out to any of the SREC members as well!
  • Where can I locate the PLEDGE Application?
    You can access the PLEDGE application in the following ways: Through My UCLA Portal: Log into MyUCLA portal Navigate to “Campus Life” tab Under “Student Organizations,” click on “Fund Requests.” On the Fund Request page, go to the upper left hand corner and click on “Search and Apply to Funds.” You’ll be directed to a list of available funding resources Find and select the “SREC PLEDGE Risk Management Fund” from the list. Click “Apply” to access the application Through SREC Website: Go to uclasrec.com Click on “PLEDGE Fund” on the Homepage On the PLEDGE Fund page, click the green “Apply” button and follow the step-by-step guide Under Fund Name search "SREC PLEDGE" Click "Apply" to access the application
