The PLEDGE fund, established through the 2009 PLEDGE Referendum, provides financial support for student organizations, with a strong focus on managing risk and liability. As student-run projects, especially those under the Community Programs Office Student Association (CPOSA) and Campus Services Committee (CSC), grew in size and complexity, there was an increasing need for formalized safety standards.

The fund is essential in addressing these concerns through the leadership of the Student Risk Education Committee (SREC), which oversees risk management across all student organizations. This ensures that students participating in activities,or involved in community service or outreach, are protected. The PLEDGE fund, allocates money to fund resources to support these safety measures, enabling student organizations to operate more securely and sustainably.
